Created in the summer of 2017, OTR Records original mission statement was to create premium music globally thru the LA music scene. The first 3 artists signed to OTR Records were Lilmanwest, $tupid Young, and MBNel. Throughout our 7 year history, we have signed over 25 artists/producers as well as help build influencers. Our current roster is assembled with an All-Star lineup from all over California. Chito Rana$ originally from Sacramento California was the first OTR artist to do a joint venture with Sony Music via Signal/Columbia Records. Lefty Gunplay is currently the face of the Los Angeles music scene, exploding into superstardom. 22gfay is the youngest in charge just turning 21 years old. The San Diego singer can mesmerize you with his smooth vocals. Others on our roster include Pacman Da Gunman, who is Nipsey Hussle’s protege, as well as TopRankGang and many more. OTR Records also has one of the biggest producers in the whole hip-hop scene with Detroit’s own Tye Beats. Tye Beats has been part of billboard #1 albums as well as many billboard charting singles.
OTR Records has many more artists and producers in the pipeline that will be household names in the near future.
Chito Rana
North Sacramento’s very own Chito Rana$ is California’s next bi-lingual superstar. The Howe
Park native, grew up in a household listening to Mexican Regional music because of his
parents, but later discovered hip-hop and combined his influences to create his own unique
style. Chito has been rapping and releasing mixtapes since he was a teenager, but up until 2019
he was only half-heartedly taking rap seriously. That was until his popularity began to grow
rapidly thanks to viral songs like “Cuerno De Chivo”, “Patrullando”, and “North Sac Baby”. In his
video for “Patrullando” (which means “patrolling” in English), he displays a narco trafficker
lifestyle while rapping blistering bars in both English and Spanish. His fortunes would change
pretty quickly after, however in that same year he was arrested for selling fellow Sacramento
artist Bris a firearm. He would go on to serve roughly 4 years in different prisons throughout
California, but while he was incarcerated his fame grew exponentially thanks to his music
resurfacing on Tik-Tok and his Spanglish style becoming much more appetizing in mainstream
culture by 2023.
In late July of 2022, Chito’s brother who went by the rap name Jali$co was gunned down in San
Jose, becoming Chito’s main motivation to keep rapping. As Chito would later go on to say in an
interview, “this was my brother’s dream, I’m just living it for him now”. Less than a year later,
Chito would finally be released from prison and hit the ground running with his latest hit “All The
Smoke” which reached over a million views in its first 2 weeks of release. The day he was
released from prison, the self proclaimed Dopest Mexican partnered with independent
powerhouse label OTR Records to take his career to the next level and further grow his own
imprint Mala Records. Less than 30 days after that signing, OTR and Chito signed a multiple
project, joint venture deal with Signal Records/Columbia Records, a subsidiary label under Sony
Music. As trouble does, it found Chito once again and he was arrested only a week after the
new deal with a major label, however since the Sacramento rapper worked tirelessly in the
studio for the short time he was free, he has enough music to feed the hungry fans with more
than enough Cuisses de Grenouilles until the frog is once again freed. On August 1st, 2023
Chito will release “Dead or Alive” a brand new project featuring all new never before released
songs by The King of The North.
